We are pleased to present our second annual legislative scorecard reflecting women’s priorities in the state of Colorado.

Provided in this scorecard are the voting records of each member of the Colorado State Legislature on women-focused priority bills considered in the 2010 session. The Women’s Lobby of Colorado seeks to provide better opportunities for women in our state by ensuring that public policies reflect gender equity and justice. By consistently maintaining a daily lobbying presence at Colorado’s Capitol, our all volunteer organization has kept the needs of women front and center in our state’s public policy debates for more than a decade.

This scorecard serves as a guide to Coloradans on issues that are important to women. We hope that you will carefully examine the scores of legislators and write or call elected offi cials to let them know you reviewed their votes. You can determine who your state senators and state representatives are by visiting www.votesmart.org.

The Women's Lobby has been hard at work bringing awareness to Coloradans about the need for safe cosmetics and the harm that some of these toxins can do. We have been working with the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics to protect your health by eliminating chemicals in cosmetics linked to cancer, birth defects and other health problems. Even though our bill on safe personal care products did not pass this year, we will continue working on the issue due to overwhelming support from our membership.
