Welcome to the Women's Lobby of Colorado!
Women's Lobby of Colorado Board Update
After four years serving as the President of the Colorado Women’s Lobby Board, Lorena Garcia has stepped down. Lorena will continue her social justice work with COLOR and hopes to have more time to pursue her passion for using film to further this work.
While we will miss Lorena, we are excited to announce that our new President is Katie Groke Ellis. Katie is the National Program Manager for The White House Project and has a background in running ballot initiative campaigns and grassroots organizing. A graduate of the University of Wyoming where she played on a soccer scholarship, Katie has worked with the NCAA, Choice USA, Springboard Enterprises and Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains developing and most recently implementing successful field programs to defeat anti-choice ballot initiatives and help elect pro-choice candidates to office. Roweena Naidoo will serve as Vice President/Treasurer and Karen Arnold as Secretary.
Under Katie’s leadership the Colorado Women’s Lobby will continue to seek to provide better opportunities for women in our state by ensuring that public policies reflect gender equity and justice.
Issues Committees now being held every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month. Come to share your priorities for new legislation.
Meetings are held at 1500 Grant from Noon - 1:15 in the Bluebell room.
